  1. Stuff Paul Green says

"Paul and the Politicians," the weekly, hour-long WGN AM 720 segment (and podcast) is back on the air after a brief hiatus. It features the analysis of Paul Green, the chairman of political science at Roosevelt University and veteran pundit, and was in morning drive on  WGN until the recent shakeup in air personalities. Now it's found a permanent home in the 11 a.m. hour Wednesdays with regular mid-morning host Mike McConnell.
In honor of this development I hereby give you my list of Stuff Paul Green says, compiled over years of listening to him:
Politics in this town in like a giant onion. You have to peel it back one layer at a time.
As Sonny & Cher used to say,  "The Beat Goes On."
I know nothing! (imitating Sgt. Schultz from "Hogan's Heroes")
I’m not liberal or conservative. I'm the white line down the middle of the road
Elections are multiple choice, not essay exams
A campaign is a marathon that turns into a sprint
    Good government equals good politics
    Organization is key
The Marquess of Queensberry Rules in Illinois politics is, you wear your trunks around your ankles. There are no low blows.
Whoever controls the pencil wins the map
Don't forget the  3 M’s in politics: money, media and momentum
It’s not lying, it’s called campaigning
The only people smarter than the guys who write campaign finance laws are the guys hired to figure out how to evade them.
    Are you ready for this?
The Melina Mercouri syndrome --"Never on Sunday"

I know Paul quite well. A very funny guy and the current authority on all things political in Illinois. He is a Professor at Roosevelt University.

Paul was an elected Township Supervisor of Monee Township in Illinois south of Chicago. He won the office by 3 votes and always referred to this as his mandate to govern,
